Dr. Balamurali Krishna Mayya K. I obtained my BSc Mangalore University From St. Aloysius College, Mangalore under the Mangalore University with Physics, Electronics and Mathematics as the major subjects. I did my M.Sc. from the Department of Physics, University of Pune. On the experimental side my research work has mainly been on preparation and characterization of gold colloidal nanoparticle thin films via the Langmuir Blodgett technique as part of a Indo-French IFCPAR project. Apart from this, I was involved in studying the dynamics of collapse of Langmuir monolayers under different ambient conditions towards validation of a proposed model for the same. On the theoretical side my work has been on applying random matrix methods to multivariate analysis. In addition to this, I have carried out research work in the areas of two body random matrix ensembles and statistical group theory.

My current research interest is in the areas of solar photovoltaics. In this mainly my interest is in polymer/organic photovoltaics and Dye sensitized solar cells. In addition to this I am interested in the application of self-assembly Methods for constructing ordered heterojunctions for solar cell applications. On the theoretical Side I would like to work on the application of Extreme Value Statistics to Nuclear Spectra. Apart from this I am interested in the areas of non-Hermitian random matrices and a somewhat related area of the statistical theory of quantum dots.
