M.Tech (Energy Systems and Technology, Focused on Solar Energy) and PhD Programs require successful completion of prescribed course works.
Basic features of M.Tech and PhD programs:
. Course credit requirement for M.Tech: 111 (with compulsory industrial internship)
• M.Tech projects to be carried out during second year:
(i) On industrial problems
(ii) Photovoltaic materials development and solar cell design
(iii) Based on real time PV cell/ module or system level performance and sustainability studies
(iv) Performance studies of 1MW PV power generation plant at PDPU
• M.Tech project works are counseled based on the background and first year courses performance of the student.
• PhD projects work related to present faculty R&D activities in Solar PV, PV Balance of Systems and PV Systems Engineering
• PhDs in thrust areas of Thin Film Photovoltaic, Photovoltaic Systems, Reliability and Sustainability Studies in PV
• Core courses (6-Credits): Mathematical Techniques, Quantum Mechanics & Semiconductors, Thermodynamics & Heat Transfer , Vacuum Science & Thin Film Technology, Renewable Energy & Energy Management, Photovoltaic Science & Engineering, Solar Thermal Engineering, Semiconductor Processing & Characterization, Modeling & Simulation, Galvanic Energy Storage.
• Elective courses (4-Credits): Semiconductors & Optoelectronic Devices, Nanostructured Materials, Applied Photovoltiacs & Energy Efficiency |
