Dr. Lokhande’s research interest is related to the operation and control of inverter interconnected microgrids. Microgrids are the small entities where sources and loads are connected in same geographical area. Sources are of small rating and generally they are renewable energy sources connected to ac microgrid through inverters. He has simulated the microgrid configuration for isolated application in the Matlab/Simulink and analyzed issues related to the induction motor operation in such microgrids. He recently submitted his Ph.D. thesis in Energy Science and Engineering Department in IIT Bombay, Mumbai. He was also involved in designing of photovoltaic inverter system in the department. He did his masters in Electrical Engineering Department, Government College of Engineering Pune. His dissertation topic was related to design of axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator for wind mills.
